.You can see people (not everyone, just some people) mock accents. They mock Indians speaking English, Italians, Asians, even .
Iranians humiliate themselves for having an accent when speaking English

Why has it become so important? I mean, it does become important sometimes but the way it i now, institutes trying to teach accent above of all and learners running hard to reach accent-fixing classes, is it even reasonable?

not really but it gives you a nice feeling of satisfaction when you speak correctly.

of course it matters.because a decent accent brings you respect and boosts your confidence.however i think we should work on our accent from the beginning .correcting it isnt really easy.

Yes, it does. Your accent says a lot about you. It makes people look down upon you or look up to you. Practically, it's part of your appearance. It gives away your nationality, social class and even your education.

I tend to believe that unless you're a raving rich posh male, your accent is not gonna impress people as much as you want it to, so
do your best learning the language in it's standard accent, but don't let it mess with your self-esteem speak freely and loudly.​
