many years ago , when i worked as a volenteer in Stanford hospital , I got a little girl named liza who was suffering from a rare and serious disease . Her only chance of recovery appeard to be blood transfusiion from her five-year-old brother , who had developed the antibodies needed to combat the illness.

The doctor explained her situation to her brother and asked the boy if he would be willing to give his blood to his sister . I saw hesitate for only a moment befor taking a deep breath and saying : yes i'll do if it save liza

As transfusion progressed , he lay in a bed next to his sister and smiled , as we all did, seeing the color returning to her cheeks. Then his face grow pale and his smile faded away.He looked up at the doctor and asked him with a trembeling voice , "will i start do die right away?"a

beeing young , the boy misundrestand the doctor ; he taught he was going to give her all his blood
